I think the Yankees should consider him if he's willing to go to the bullpen. He's always had a rubber arm, so I don't think that will be an issue at all for him. In an ideal world the Yankees would be able to send him to Tampa to work out his mechanics, as he's been hideous his last 4 starts. However, his 11 starts before that, he posted a 2.91 ERA. Let him go to Tampa, and then join the team on September 1st. He's a good insurance policy as well if somebody gets hurt.

I would give him a chance.
