What's Worse?
That the Cubs traded for someone hitting .226/.261/.281, or that this constitutes an major upgrade? Their catchers this season, aside from Michael Barrett (who is no longer with the team), have hit .127/.197/.190 in 137 plate appearances.

This trade really just stresses how bad the Barrett trade was. Granted, they've played better since they made the deal, but I still think they could have gotten more back for him. Now they've downgraded the position AND added payroll, when they have other needs that demand more attention and will cost money to fill. It really is quite amazing.
Those stats just make me worry about Posada getting hurt.
