Jeff Karstens 1st option

Jeff Karstens started tonight and threw 4 innings of 1-hit, no walk, 4 strikeout ball. Keeping his ERA this spring at 0.00, in picking up his third win.

I'm hoping that this has not earned him a spot in the bullpen. Especially at the beginning of the season where there will be significant days off and Igawa and/or Pavano will be available for long relief, I'd rather Karstens get his work in as a starter for Scranton.

It does seem that he has positioned himself ahead of both Phillip Hughes and Darrel Rasner for the first "spot start" of the season.
