Allow me to be the first one to make the obvious "Bet everything you have on the Rangers to win the World Series next year" joke. There are a lot of jobs open (and a lot of high-profile guys available), so you have to wonder if he'll be able to land another job this year. Or maybe he's flamed out in too many places to warrant serious consideration.

But if you're the Cubs, don't you have to hire him and then fire him after one year, so you could end the drought in 2008? 100 years is a nice round number...
