Melky's Move

The Yankees still haven't announced anything about Sheffield going on the DL or how they would replace him if he does. However, after playing the entire season in centerfield, Melky Cabrera played right for the first time last night, at very least showing the Yankees are getting prepared to call him up. Melky went 3-for-5 in the game, raising his average to .385 on the season.

I just realized that if Melky does get called up, his first 4 games will be against Beckett, Schilling, Wakefield, and Zito. That's pretty rough. After that it's still Halsey who has a 2.28 ERA this season as well.

And it's official - he's up as of tonight. Lots of subplots tonight - should be fun...
