Making Rivera look like a bargain

$10 million for Eric Gagne. A pitcher with a history of arm injuries, who had a 6.47 ERA after the all-star break gets $10 million.

Clearly the Brewers GM agrees that the NL is much weaker than the AL, that's the only explanation.

I agree 190%, even though I hate it when people say use percentages higher than 100 to make a point.

Gagne was awful last year, of course, but he's also only thrown 67.3 over the past three seasons. I'll be drafting Derrick Turnbow in my fantasy league next year.

To play devil's advocate for a second, it's only a one-year deal, and you might as well pay for a guy with a chance of being really good, rather than a guy you know will be mediocre. Gagne's range of possibilities is huge - from terrible, to injured, to healthy and lights out.

Hell, $10 million is nothing.
