Non-Pitchers as Pitching Coaches

My baseball surprise of the day came while reading about Chris and Shelley Duncan. I knew that their dad is Dave Duncan, St. Louis' pitching coach, but what I didn't know is that Dave Duncan was not a pitcher during his big-league career - he was a catcher (low average, but some decent pop - not unlike his sons). Now, if any position player would become a pitching coach, it would be a catcher, but I've still got to think that it's pretty rare to have a position player become a pitching coach. Do you guys know of another one?

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but it makes sense that a catcher, if anyone, would make a good pitching coach, although conventional wisdom seems to be that catchers make good managers, and pitching coaches make bad managers. I'm not sure if there's anything other than anecdotal evidence to back that up, though.
