Rough Debut for Igawa

Well, Kei Igawa is off to a wild start. He was scheduled to throw 2 innings today, but threw more than enough pitches with just 1 inning. He walked 3 batters, gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in the 1 inning of work.

Jeff Kenard hit Gary Sheffield with a pitch. Oops.

Mariano Rivera decided to pitch today. In case anybody doesn't know, for a number of years now, the Yankees have let Rivera decide his own spring training schedule. He never pitches on the road. He pitched 1 perfect inning, striking out two.
