Yankees and Red Sox to take on National League, with help of Vlad

If the All-Star voting were to end today, Vladimir Guerrero would be the only starter on the AL team who doesn't play with the Yankees and Red Sox.

Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano, and Johnny Damon would be representing the Yankees, with David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and Jason Varitek representing the Red Sox. There's even a chance Mike Mussina could get the starting nod.

Even if some of these players lose the lead, it may very well still be Red Sox and Yankees. Jason Giambi, Mark Loretta, and Mike Lowell are all second in voting, and Jorge Posada is third as he is slightly behind Ivan Rodriguez as well. Sheffield is 5th in the outfield balloting, but his injuries should prevent him from moving up in the outfield.

I saw that, too - this is reason #4,287 why they need to eliminate the fan balloting.
