Who has Back Acne?

There are some interesting nuggets of information in the affidavit for the search warrant of Jason Grimsley's house. It looks like the Feds nabbed Grimsley when he received a package of HGH in the mail. After that, Grimsley must have started yakking without a lawyer or something, because he does name names. For now, the names are blacked out - fill in the blanks!

Grimsley stated that throughout the course of his Major League Baseball career, he has purchased and used the athletic performance-enhancing drugs, anabolic steroids, amphetamines, Clenbuterol and human growth hormone...

Grimsley stated that since Major League Baseball began its drug testing for sterids and amphetamines, the only drug that he has used is human growth hormone...

Grimsley stated that during Major League Baseball's 2003 drug-testing program for anabolic steroids, he tested positive. Grimsley states that ___________________________________ told him about the positive test...

Grimsley described himself as a former user of amphetamines, which he referred to as "greenies" and "beans". Grimsley further states that "they work." He has seen other players taking amphetamines. He stated "everybody had greenies. That's like aspirin." Grimsley stated that until last year, Major League clubhouses had coffee pots labeled "leaded" and "unleaded" for the players, indicating coffee with amphetamines and without...

When asked what other current [or] former Major League Baseball players used athletic performance-enhancing drugs Grimsley named former players ________ and __________. Grimsley stated that this past winter, ____ told him of a doctor in Flordia that he was using [as] a "wellness center" to obtain human growth hormone. _____ told him, "if you are going to do this, you should do it right."...

Grimsley was asked about his knowledge of other Major League Baseball players who took anabolic steroids. Grimsley named _____________, __________ (whom he stated was ____________________), _____________ (whome Grimsley stated was very obvious and had the worst back acne he'd ever seen), and ____________ as anabolic steroid users...

Grimsley also identified ____________, a former Major League Baseball player, as one of his better friends in baseball. Grimsley stated that [he] knows ___________ used human growth hormone and knows that ___________ obtained the human growth hormone from the same source Grimsley obtained his from.

I love how Grimsley ratted out "one of his better friends in baseball". What a great guy.

Baseball's may have a tough time with this. When Jose Canseco's book came out, all most people said was "It's Jose Canseco. He lies."

Turns out in retrospect, he may not have lied.

Jason Grimsley is not as easy to write off that way. The only thing baseball has going for it, is that to most of the world he's "Jason who?"

He may be too small of a name to have a true impact. The real question is how big of names are those "blanks"

He definitely is not too small of a name for this to matter. It's only a matter of time until those blacked out names come out (and the second of those "former major leaguers" has to be Sosa), and by that point, it won't matter who the original probe centered around.

True, an investigation into BARRY BONDS was met with almost no reaction from baseball (other than a toothless drug testing policy), but these revelations should tell them one thing: the government is not giving up on this. The IRS agent who headed this investigation is the same one who started the BALCO investigation, and you have to think he's not done.

I thought all along that Canseco was telling the truth, and when Palmiero flunked his test, I KNEW he was telling the truth, and anyone still in denial after that just doesn't have a brain.

None of this surprises me. Actually, I find it fascinating. I can't wait until more names come out, and if this eventaully spells the end of Bud Selig, even better.

As for the other names, in the original blacked out affadavit, it looked like the second active player that he named had a first name that started with a J. My first thought was Jason Giambi, but they never played together, so it could be someone else. Did he play with Jeremy in KC? It could be him, but he's not active anymore. Whatever - we'll find out soon enough.
