Jeter jammed his hand sliding into second base. He was taken out for precautionary reasons.
He slid feet first.
Perhaps you angered the baseball gods with your assumptions of 3,500 hits...
Unfortunately, that was the first thing I thought of.
Joe Torre just said that it is possible Jeter won't play tommorrow but more probable that he will.
